Most people have their own advice to give pregnant women about weight gain and how it helps the baby, even advice about whether to breastfeed or bottle feed. What you eat is just as important as how much you eat. “Baby” fat is gained through the whole pregnancy so it does take some time to lose the “baby” fat that we gain.


Women who gain too much weight during their pregnancy can have problems such as high blood pressure, diabetes, varicose veins and so on. One way to be sure to start your baby off right nutritionally and healthy is to breastfeed while letting the baby breastfeed helps you to lose the “baby” fat you gained during the pregnancy. Remember, healthy breastfeeding means the mother must exercise healthy habits.


Since gaining weight is part of being pregnant, many new mothers have many concerns about losing weight. You do lose some weight after giving birth; one reason is that you are no longer pregnant. Many people say that breastfeeding is the quickest way to get back to your pre- pregnancy weight. It is said that breastfeeding burns the most “baby” fat off a woman’s body. Women should also eat healthy and exercise regularly to help with losing the “baby” fat. Also help to keep the nutrition in the milk that the baby gets from breastfeeding to grow and stay healthy.


If more than the normal weight has been gained, help might be needed from a doctor to help lose the “baby” fat. Always consult your doctor before engaging in any type of weight loss plan. If you elect to breastfeed your baby, make sure you consult your doctor about your plan of using breastfeeding as a means of losing “baby” fat and in helping to make sure your baby gets a healthy start.
